The Home Builders Association of Charlotte was founded in 1945 by a group of Charlotte builders looking for an organization to serve their interests and needs within the home building industry.

Today the association is one of over 800 local home builder associations throughout the United States and is affiliated with the National Association of Home Builders and the North Carolina Home Builders Association. The HBAC represents 900 builder and associate member firms and has over 20,000 members in home-building and related industries.
