Jen Schuster, Executive Officer
Jen joined the Home Builders Association of Greater Charlotte in February 2024 as the Executive Officer. Slated to be 2024’s President, Jen followed her passion for advocacy and made the leap to full-time HBA leader. Prior to joining the small HBA team, Jen held the role of Director of Land Acquisition for Mattamy Homes, where she learned just how difficult it is to find developable land in the Charlotte market, especially in areas that want growth. Before Mattamy, she was the Regional Director for Metrostudy, covering Charlotte, Greenville, and Charleston where she honed her public speaking and real estate data analysis skills. Jen holds a Bachelor of Arts in History from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and a Master of Science in Real Estate Development and Finance from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. In her spare time, she dotes on her two kids and two dogs while wishing she had more time to paint.Â

Jean Farmer Orr, Communications Director
Jean is a long-time member of the HBA team. Her evolving roles within the organization have given her experience in all aspects of association management including event planning, membership services, and communications. As Communications Director, Jean strives to elevate member engagement even though she prefers to hide behind the scenes most of the time. Prior to joining the HBAGC, Jean earned her Bachelor of Arts in English Literature from UNC-Greensboro. A Gaston County native, Jean loves spending time with her husband and two children. Any free time she gets outside of work and family is spent reading fiction or binge-watching an eclectic variety of television programs.

Sarah Mitchell, Director of Business Development
Sarah is a Charlotte native who brings over 15 years of experience in the nonprofit sector. Local volunteer involvement led her into a career of meaningful nonprofit work. Throughout her career, Sarah has excelled in various roles within local organizations, focusing on fundraising, event planning, donor management, and volunteer recruitment and coordination. As the Director of Business Development for the Home Builders Association of Greater Charlotte, Sarah is committed to strengthening the community by forging meaningful partnerships that create lasting local impact. Outside of her professional passion, Sarah enjoys  spending quality time with her husband and daughter as well as  enjoying the company of friends and family.

Yvonne Case, Accounting Manager
Yvonne joined the Home Builders Association of Greater Charlotte in 2012 as a temporary part-time Accounting Manager and for the most part, never left. Yvonne is a Southern California native who moved to North Carolina in 2006. Before moving, she worked in corporate governance for a privately owned homebuilder for 11 years before moving to NC and has stayed in the same industry. In her spare time, she loves spending as much time as possible (in person or virtually) with her daughter and two grandkids in California, her son in Asheville, other family, and her new rescue dog, Betty White. When not doing numerous home improvement projects on her house, she enjoys crocheting, knitting, weaving, and reading.
