Home Builders Association of Greater Charlotte - 5 County Region
The Home Builders Association of Charlotte was first chartered in 1945 to serve the building industry in Mecklenburg County. It was the only group in Mecklenburg County representing developer interests at all levels of government and promoting the housing industry in the public eye.
Both the region and the Association have experienced significant growth and change over the decades. By 2015 we officially changed names to the HBA of Greater Charlotte to signify the extensive territory we now cover. We proudly serve chapters in Cabarrus, Gaston, Union, and Iredell Counties.
Cabarrus Chapter
The Association first expanded its member territory in a merger with the Building Industry Association of Cabarrus County in 2015. Since joining forces, we continue to offer events to the Cabarrus Chapter that were long-standing traditions for those members. The Jack Tucker Memorial Fall Golf Tournament and Low Country Boil events are member favorites! Both raise funds for construction trade scholarships and Career & Technical Education programs in Cabarrus County Schools.
Gaston Chapter
In 2018, board members from both Gaston and HBA Greater Charlotte unanimously approved to merge the two associations. The Gaston Chapter has a rich history of partnering with the local Realtors’ association. We are proud of the collaboration we continue to uphold with the Gaston Association of Realtors®. We’ve partnered together to offer members in this region education and networking opportunities, including plans to work with the Gaston Business Association on events as well.
Union Chapter
As residential development continued to expand beyond the city of Charlotte and suburbs of Mecklenburg, so did the HBAGC. We acquired the membership territory of Union/Anson County in 2023. Our members face many challenges in the areas where they are building homes. With strength in numbers, this partnership increases your representation on legislative and regulatory issues. We strive to help our members develop, build, and sell homes within our communities.
Iredell Chapter
2024 brought another successful merger with the HBA of Iredell County. We believe this collaboration will offer our members another resource and opportunity to make the most of the HBAGC Mission: Service, Advocacy, Networking, and Education.
